Introducing The Killer Enigma – Day 7

BLOG POST

JJ hopes there’s a break in the action and mystery at Magnolia Bluff so he can enjoy his romantic anniversary. Yet Lily seems to find ways to disrupt his plans inadvertently.

She gave each of them a hug. “You two have a treat in store for your date. LouEllen told me they’re amping up their party atmosphere at the lounge to Dancing with the Stars. She selected a country band for a one-night-only boot-scooting night. LouEllen almost turned them down because of how scruffy they looked. Then the lead singer, with the lusty look in his eye, whispered in her ear that he could belt out most of Lonny Lupnerder’s love melodies for tips. Claimed they were making their travel expenses from Nashville to Los Angeles for a recording gig.”

JJ wanted a romantic night out with Jo, not a town event. “Lily, I’m not certain how you heard, but we like Magnolia Bluff for the quiet, not the hoopla. We might not even go. It’s been a long day and…” He caught the bright-eyed, beaming, happy glow on Jo’s face. “It’s definitely thoughtful, but we need to cool it going forward. Uh…what do folks mean by the term Texas boot-scooting?” He sighed. “Will tennis shoes work? I have a clean pair.”

Lily roared with laughter, and tears filled her eyes. “Oh, hon, you’re gonna need some decent cowboy boots. His and hers so that you can clomp around to the fiddler.”

Jo shook her head. “We didn’t bring ours.”

Lily patted Jo’s back. “High-tail it over to Robert Joseph’s Boot Barn out on Texas Highway 28 where it intersects the I-35 runway. It’s a little driving, but make sure to ask for Bobby-Joe. He’ll get you outfitted with boot-scooting country dance footwear.”

Lily took Jo by the arm and confided, “When you go to dance, keep yourself between LouEllen and JJ. She doesn’t mean any harm but enjoys shopping. She can’t control reaching for tight male bums to squeeze. I think she keeps a tally somewhere if you know what I mean.”

BOOK BLURB

Enough is Enough – JJ roars when the Paparazzi wrecked their dinner

JJ and Jo realize privacy doesn’t exist for them. They return to Magnolia Bluff to check on their friends and recapture the small-town anonymity. In Magnolia Bluff, no one suspects their fame.
They discount the status as urban legends in favor of acceptance and a quiet, peaceful life. After all, a supermodel needs time and space to recharge between jobs. A geek wants time to adore his wife.

· Does Magnolia Bluff hold the answers to their prayers?
· Will their desires get clouded by a hidden secret?

Past, present, and future collide in a perfect storm no one expected. JJ and Jo take action to uncover the truth. Chief Tommy Jager likes them but feels they’re a lightning rod for trouble and disruption.
Who will live or die to prevent the truth from being exposed? The answers may be in the graveyard with fresh flowers on the gravestone.

Sir Chocolate Books – Sir Chocolate and the Condensed Milk River Story and Cookbook!!

Sir Chocolate and the Condensed Milk River story and cookbook tells the tale of the drying up of the condensed milk river, leaving the fish and water creatures suffering in the shallow pools that remain, and the villagers without a ‘water’ source.

Sir Chocolate and Lady Sweet need to do something to save the village and the fish and other creatures. Who can help them? The trolls, of course. Another story that highlights the theme of acceptance of others regardless of their appearance.

How to make a cute cow out of fondant

Step 1 – Make the head by rolling an oval shape out of white fondant. Use your fingers to flatten the forehead and lengthen the snout. Use a small ball tool to make the eye sockets. Roll two eyes from small pieces of black fondant and glue them into the eye sockets using edible sugar glue.

Step 2 – Roll two small ovals of white fondant for the ears. Flatten them slightly by smoothing them with your fingers. Attach them on either side of the head using edible sugar glue.

Step 3 – Roll two triangular shapes from cream fondant. Use your fingers to shape them into a horn shape and attach them to the top of the head using edible sugar glue. Roll three narrow tubes of black fondant for the fringe and attach them to the forehead as per the picture.

Step 4 – Roll a large oval from white fondant for the body and set aside. Cut out a few thin black circles from rolled out fondant. Use cornflour to stop the fondant from sticking to the rolling pin. Gently pull the circles into slightly varied shapes and attach them to the body using edible sugar glue. Role a long, narrow but from white fondant and attach to the back of the body for the tail.

Step 6 – Roll four oblongs from white fondant for the legs. Make sure they are all the same length and width. Carefully insert a toothpick through the centre of each leg. If it loses its shape slightly, use your fingers to smooth it back into shape. Use a pair of wire cutters to snip the toothpick to approximately 1 centimetre remains sticking up. Roll four balls of black fondant and flatten them. Glue them to the bottom of the legs to form the hooves.

Step 7 – Using light pink fondant, roll an oval shape. Flatten it using your finger and squeeze the middle slightly to create a dent on the top and bottom of the snout. Use a small ball tool to make the nostrils. Attach to the front of the cow’s face using edible sugar glue.

Step 8 – Leave the constructed head, body, and legs to harden overnight. Attach the legs to the underside of the body using edible sugar glue. Attach the head to the front of the body and use a cup or other item to support the head until it dries. If you don’t do this, the heavy head will droop forward and tear a long rut in the top of the body.

RRBC: The Gift for Writers that Keeps on Giving

This month’s issue of The #RRBC Pipeline Magazine (https://therrbcpipeline.wordpress.com/browse-the-magazine/) has, like the many issues before it, is chock-full of advice, encouragement, opportunities, features and more. As I’ve posted elsewhere, the magazine itself is worth the entire annual RRBC membership fee! Actually, it’s hard to even put a price tag on the RRBC membership and experience because it’s THE GIFT FOR WRITERS THAT KEEPS ON GIVING.

There is so much to RRBC and its members, contents and insights. And just when you think you have it all down, they give you more, and more. Kind of like….some mothers! They give more than they ever expect to get in return. RRBC is truly a gift and we as members are still discovering and re-discovering anew, all that there is to be learned and gained from the organization — and from each other.

As I was looking at the magazine, I noticed that they were featuring my blog as well — something I did not expect and was so honored to discover. So, thank you for visiting! Truly, we could never reciprocate all that RRBC does for its members. But we can try!!

Happy Mother’s Day Weekend to all — and thank you all for all you give to RRBC, to your families and loved ones, and to the craft of writing! Onward!

RRBC Spotlight Author for February!

Greetings fellow readers and writers! Here is to a fruitful 2021 in books and life!

My name is Lisa Kirazian and I am an author and playwright based in San Diego. My latest book, Cadenza, is the finale of the novel series, “The Music We Made.” The series follows three generations of the Driscoll family of musicians.

And I’m honored to share that I’m the Spotlight Author of the Month (February) for the Rave Reviews Book Club (RRBC)! There are a number of exciting activities going on. For the week of Feb 8-15, I am thrilled to be hosted by seven other blogs/member writers of RRBC, featuring a post about my work on the book Cadenza, and the journey of writing the whole series. (And it has been quite a journey!)

Here is my RRBC Spotlight Author Page for all the latest info and links:

https://ravereviewsbookclub.wordpress.com/rrbc-spotlight-author/

I’ll also be on the internet radio talk show Rave Waves Bring on the Spotlight, Thursday, Feb 11, 2021, 12pm Central/10am Pacific. Check the above site for the link soon!

I have blogged about RRBC before, but if you are not familiar with them, here is the nutshell: RRBC is an online book club community of readers and writers who read and review each other’s work and participate in an array of activities and opportunities to grow as writers. For a small annual membership fee, your books (and book trailers) can be listed in their book catalog for others to read and review on Amazon and elsewhere. RRBC even has a social media/twitter support team to promote its member authors. They also publish anthologies of members’ work. And I have only scratched the surface!

But I cannot possibly articulate everything RRBC does here – its founder Nonnie Jules and her team do so much for RRBC members, who live around the world. Visit here to get the lowdown: https://ravereviewsbookclub.wordpress.com/

See you around. Onward!

This Week, Aug 12-18, The Rave Reviews Book Club holds its 4th Annual RRBC Writer’s Conference and Book Expo (#WCBE19). It’s an online conference where writers from around the world can encourage each other’s work as well as promote their own. There are also online courses, writing chats, a silent auction and other prize opportunities. I have learned of many writers and works I wouldn’t have otherwise known about. And seeing the challenges other writers face and overcome certainly has encouraged me to stay the course in my current writing projects!
